Wedding day needs to be perfect. No mishaps, no last minute changes, no nothing. Everything has to be at the best. Your makeup is no exception as well. You have spent so much time perfecting your makeup so you do not want it to disappear after couple of hours of its application.

Wedding is your important day and you might feel stress on this special day. Stress and heat can cause our skin to produce more oil and sweat. This in turn makes makeup run ruining all of your efforts.  Wedding goes throughout the day and run up till late night.

As the main focus of the wedding day, you want your skin and your makeup to look flawless all day long. Feeling beautiful on wedding day is every bride’s wish. But getting your makeup to last for long hours is really hard with all the sweating, oiliness and creasing. So when you are getting ready to have your makeup done, here are some tips to ensure you get long-lasting bridal makeup.

  1. Prepare your skin:

If you want to feel and look fresh, moisturize your skin. Keep moisturizing your face daily, especially a week prior to wedding and more importantly before applying bridal makeup. If you want makeup to look fresh and smooth on your face, exfoliate your skin. Start doing this once or twice a week leading up to your wedding day. Use tinted moisturizer for a natural look.

  1. Prepare your face with primer:

A primer acts as a base for your foundation and eye shadows.  A primer creates a smoother skin surface, tone down uneven patches and redness. It also checks the shine that may happen later on from oiliness. It prevents makeup from being absorbed by dry skin or slipping on oily skin.  It is essential for keeping makeup in place longer. Make sure to use it everywhere that you will be applying makeup, even your eyelids. You have special primer for eyelids. Use oil free primer to mattify.

  1. Blot away the oiliness:

Avoid touching your face too much. If you feel your face is getting a little oily, use blotting sheet lightly to remove oiliness. T-Zone of your face gets oilier than other parts, blot away oily spots. You can even use tissue paper to do some blotting instead of adding makeup on. Never rub the shine off your face because you will wipe away your foundation and other makeup as well.

  1. Powdering:

When applied incorrectly, powder can age you. The wrong shade will make your skin look gray and flat—in real as well as in in photos. Once you are done with makeup and the look is perfect as per your choice, apply finishing powder.

The powder will absorb oil keeping your face look even, natural and shine-free. If you feel your skin is getting oily, then just lightly apply some powder on your skin. This is a quick way to refresh your makeup. Carry a small puff and powder with you.  Blot away oiliness before reapplying powder.

  1. Less is more:

When you are applying makeup, try to keep it easy and light at the beginning. You can always add later on the day. To eliminate skin oil toe down layers of products on the face. Wedding day has tears of happiness rolled up almost all times.  Choose waterproof makeup products for lasting result. When you have waterproof mascara and lip stains, you do not have to worry about touching up your face throughout the event. If you apply lip-stains you do not have to worry about reapplying your lipsticks again.

When applying makeup, always start with your eyes. Moisturize your face. Prepare your eye lids with lids primer. An eye primer is important as it keeps your eye shadows from creasing. Avoid using too much cream. Follow these few simple tricks for your lasting makeup. Get yourself look the most beautiful in your wedding day so that you may enjoy the album later.
