“Marriages are made in heaven”, marriage completes us. Specially, for we girls, this is the most memorable moment of our life, we have been waiting and planning for this day since our childhood. The wedding dress is the most important piece of clothing for girls because we get to wear it only once in our lifetime. We all want to look the best on our big day.

Let me give you some tips on how to choose that perfect dress that fits your body type:

Mermaid Wedding Dress
The mermaid dress embraces your body from the chest to the hips, then flares out at the knee. The flare of mermaid dress can be made in flamenco, round and trumpet design. You can have either high neck or long sleeves with this style of dress, strapless or halter with V-neck design.
Body Type: This type of bride dress suits best on curvy women with hourglass or petite figure. One should be confident enough to wear this type of dress as it highlights your curve.

A-Line or Princess Wedding Dress

This is an elegant wedding dress, where the bodice has vertical fabric panels and then the skirt flares out gently. This style of dress gives you a classic look. You can either have full length A-line dress or you can have the dress which flares out from the knee.
Body type: A-Line wedding dress looks good on almost  any body type, except for women with bigger busts. This style will make you look slimmer and taller. It is also appropriate dressing style for short brides as long lines of the gown helps to make you look taller.

Empire Wedding Dress
This type of dress has a high waistline just below the bust and then it drops down. You can either have a long bell sleeve or sleeveless with a square neckline.
Body type: This type of wedding dress is appropriate for short- waisted, tall thin and heavyset women with apple shape. The empire line will give you a slimming effect. It is even comfortable for pregnant bride to wear as it helps to cover growing belly to some extent.

Sheath or Column Wedding Dress
It is narrow in shape. It flows straight from shoulder to the ground.  It is a simple, modern and a sleek style dress that hugs your curves. This is an elegant dress usually made of satin that clings to your body.
Body Type: Looks good on very tall and very petite women with an hour glass figure. This dress looks best on thinner smaller chest. This type of dress frees your body from the extra waistlines, pockets, zippers and linings. It will expose your body for good.

Ball Gown Wedding Dress

This style is known as a fairytale wedding dress. It is fitted around the bodice and has dramatic bell shaped, floor length flares. You can either have one piece ball gown or separate top and the flare skirt. You can wear it with a pair of opera gloves. Portrait, scooped neckline or strapless design looks great on your ball gown.
Body Type: Looks good on tall brides who are heavier at the bottom. Though most of the bride looks elegant with ball gown dress, petite size bride should avoid this style as short height does not match with large size of the gown. On the other hand, if the bride with large bust chooses this dress, it can make her look even bigger.

Ballerina Wedding Dress
This is the most romantic, appealing and feminine wedding dress. It is again a bell shaped dress with a fitted bodice that hits the mid calf.
Body Type: Looks best on shorter women with stellar calves and women with broad shoulders. The full skirt will balance your upper and lower body.

While it is important to consider your body type while selecting a wedding gown, it is also important to choose a dress that you love. The dress you love will look 20 times better that the dress that you are supposed to love.
